Beautiful Bowen

Bowen is set to become an even more attractive location for domestic and international tourists through $5 million funding from the State Government towards the Whitsunday Regional Council's 'Beautiful Bowen' project.

Council will begin the second stage of the project in mid-September, with major landscaping and town improvements along Herbert Street.

As part of these works a section of Herbert Street, between Powell Street and William Street roundabouts, will be completely closed to traffic for approximately 6 weeks. The road closure will begin from 13 September and will end in late October 2019.

Pedestrian access will remain open however please be aware there will be no car parking available along Herbert Street in this area. Signage will be in place to advise motorists.
