Construction Information
Works began on Monday 30 September 2019 and will be completed in stages to minimise the impacts on business owners in the main street.
Beginning at the BP end near the Bruce Highway, the works will progress in sections heading towards the mill. There may be some minor works that occur outside of these construction stages.
Works will take place between the hours of 6am – 6pm, Monday to Friday. The project is expected to be completed in mid-2020.
Council’s Roads & Drainage and Parks & Gardens teams will be delivering the project, and a site office has been established at 40 Main Street which residents and business owners can visit for further information.
Business owners will notice the following impacts at times throughout the project. Council apologises in advance for these inconveniences and will aim to reduce disruption wherever possible:
•
Reduced car parking in sections in the main street
•
Sections of footpath will be closed while resurfacing is being completed
•
Lane closures while undertaking pedestrian crossing and median works
•
Noise, dust and vibration from construction machinery
•
Potential water and power interruptions while services are being upgraded
Regular updates will be provided to business owners throughout the project, with monthly newsletters and regular face-to-face updates. The latest information will be made available here and published on Council’s Facebook page.
