Proserpine will be getting a range of park upgrades under the latest round of Works for Queensland funding from the Queensland Government.
Whitsunday Regional Council has allocated funds to make improvements to play equipment and park facilities in Proserpine next year.
Before the park upgrades go ahead, Council would like to know how local residents use each park, what age groups to cater for, and exactly what types of facilities the community wants and needs.
Whitsunday Regional Councillor John Collins said the upgrades were going to help revitalise the Proserpine community.
“Our parks will be getting some much-needed TLC and we want the community to be involved,” he said.
“We are asking residents to let us know what activities they use the parks for, and how they can benefit from new play equipment and park furniture like seating, shelters and BBQs.”
“I encourage everyone to take the survey over the next three weeks, and have your say.”
Consultation on the park upgrades will close 5pm, Wednesday 13 December 2017.
To take the short survey and vote on your favourite park equipment, visit Council’s website Your Say Whitsunday at http://yoursay.whitsundayrc.qld.gov.au/proserpine-parks-upgrade
Residents can also complete the survey in person at the Proserpine Customer Service Centre and Proserpine Library.
