This Saturday 25th October, Whitsunday Regional Council is hosting community garage sales ineach of the four townships as part of the national Garage Sale Trail.
Mayor Jenny Whitney said it’s free for anyone to come along and sell your excess stuff and make a little money.
“We’ve had great interest from all four townships and expect a wide range of items for sale at all of the community garage sales,” she said.
“It’s not too late to get involved, you can register on the Garage Sale Trail website right up untilFriday the 24th October, if you want to join one of the Council’s sales as a stallholder.
“It’s free to bring your ute or car boot or set up a table or blanket full of stuff to sell. You’ll be able to get rid of some unwanted items, make some money and might even purchase some treasure from someone else.
“Whitsunday Regional Libraries will have books, magazines and DVDs on offer with prices starting from 20 cents,” she said.

People interested in attending are encouraged to register their interest on the Garage Sale Trailwebsite.
Each of the four community garage sales are setup as events on the Garage Sale Trail websiteand interested people can say they are attending as a stall holder.
Garage Sale Trail, a national day of simultaneous garage sales, is now in its 4th year and upwards of 350,000 people are expected to take part in the initiative across Australia, with 120 Councils involved.
