Author Melaina Faranda will be conducting free writers’ workshops at Whitsunday Regional
Libraries on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th May.
Melaina is the author of 35 Young Adults and Children’s books and conducts creative writing
workshops and masterclasses throughout Australia. Her workshop ‘Making it Good Enough to
Publish’ was a sell-out at the 2009 Brisbane Writers Festival and has been a sell-out repeat event in three different states over the past six years.
There will be two workshops on offer suitable for both beginners and experienced writers –
‘Unleash Your Creativity’ and ‘Making it Good Enough to Publish’.
‘Unleash your Creativity’ is a fun, energetic workshop that provides a variety of powerful tools,
techniques and exercises for writers to unleash their unique creative ability and to overcome
blocks and limitations. Writers will learn techniques to help them discover a more powerful writing voice.
‘Making it Good enough to Publish’ focuses on self-editing techniques that will improve writing and refine the story. The benefit of Melaina’s many years of experience working with over twenty
