Whitsunday Regional Council has approved $5000 in sponsorship and a waiver of fees andcharges to support Airlie Beach Race Week to be held from 7 to 14 August 2015.
Mayor Jenny Whitney said Council is once again very pleased to support this iconic event whicheach year draws thousands of people to the Whitsunday region.
“Council will give $5,000 by way of sponsorship for Airlie Beach Race Week in addition to waiving associated fees and charges,” Mayor Whitney said.
“Council will also work with the Airlie Beach Race Week Committee to provide in-kind support tothe value of $5,000 forming a Bronze Partnership,” she said.
“This event injects millions of dollars into our region through accommodation, meals, tours andother purchases as well as showcasing the Whitsundays at a beautiful time of year,”
“The Whitsunday Sailing Club is hosting this year’s event and will also be promoting a range ofland based activities across eight different Airlie Beach venues as part of the race week calendar.”
