Whitsunday Regional Libraries are set to launch a series of free workshops and presentations that will assist the community in accessing the wide range of e-resources currently available 24/7 through Council’s website using their library card.
The workshops aim to provide the community with confidence in the use of the library’s e-resources through developing skills and knowledge with online technology.
The workshops will provide an overview of the resource and some practical application.
The following workshops and presentations will roll out at all libraries, from late July to mid-November and include Seniors Week workshops.
- Borrowbox (e-audio and e-books)
- Zinio (e-magazines)
- Learn About Tablets
- Tablets Basics
- Overdrive (e-audio and e-books)
- Lynda.com (web-based video courses)
- The Computerschool.net (technology training tutorials)
- Tumblebooks (e-books for kids)
To get started, participants will need their library card barcode and password, and for some workshops an active email account.
Tablets will be provided for most workshops, though some sessions are BYO device
