The first of twenty training courses offered to seniors to improve digital literacy will commence nextweek in the Whitsunday region.
Seniors can now sign up for the free Tech Savvy Seniors Queensland Program which provides an introduction to using the internet.
Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr Barry Omundson said that having a basic knowledge of usingthe internet would open the door to various interests and services for Whitsunday seniors.
“Many seniors have embraced new technology, but some are still overwhelmed or intimidated bythe thought of getting online,” Mr Omundson said.
“There’s so much that our seniors can learn and enjoy from utilising the world-wide web and weare pleased to provide them this opportunity.”
The first three courses include:
