Whitsunday Regional Council today resolved to waive the event application fees associated with five community events being held in the Whitsunday Region over the coming months.
Mayor Andrew Willcox said Council is committed to promoting the development of local events, festivals and arts and cultural projects.
“We are fortunate to have an impressive variety of events taking place in our towns, with many of these promoting our region to both interstate and intrastate visitors and giving our economy a welcome boost,” Cr Willcox said.
“The majority of the events are also run by volunteers, so it’s fantastic that Council is able to acknowledge their hard work and effort in planning these events and give them a helping hand,” he said.
