Whitsunday Regional Council has today resolved to award $14,500 in Community Assistance Grants to the Whitsunday Masters AFL Club, the Bowen Touch Football Association and Whitsunday Sportspark Inc.
Mayor Andrew Willcox said Council was proud to support community groups in facilitating a variety of cultural, community, sporting and recreation activities across the Whitsunday Region.
“Local volunteers invest considerable time, effort and money into running our sporting clubs and organisations, and Council appreciates the valuable contribution these volunteers and clubs make to our community,” Cr Willcox said.
“In this funding round, Council is giving $14,500 in funding to Whitsunday Sportspark Inc., which will go towards delivering a renovation of the Whitsunday Netball Association clubhouse and resurfacing the netball courts,” he said.
“Council is also providing $1,000 in funding to the Whitsunday Master AFL Club, and a further $3000 to the Bowen Touch Football Association, which has over 75 junior and 140 senior players.”
