Whitsunday Regional Council Mayor Jennifer Whitney said now is the time to get cheap mulchfrom the Cannonvale Transfer Station.
“Council currently has a huge amount of mulch available due to high volumes of plant debris being dumped at Cannonvale Transfer Station, from recent Cyclone Dylan,” Mayor Whitney said.
“Council sells the mulch for $10 per cubic metre, which is a very affordable rate.
“It is the perfect time of year to invest in some mulch, as it helps to conserve the moisture in thesoil we currently have.
“Mulch also helps to improve the fertility and health of the soil, reduces weed growth and canenhance the visual appeal of the area.
“Cannonvale Transfer Station is open from 6am until 6pm every day including weekends andpeople can load their own mulch during these times.
“A loader and operator are available to help supply mulch out of the big pile from 8am-4pmMonday to Friday and every second weekend from March 1st , 2014,” she said.
