Flooding in The Tropics Minimize

Whitsunday Regional Council urges you to take care during a flooding situation.

For updates on road closures, please contact your local radio station, or RACQ.

To supply information about water on roads, or potential road hazards, please contact Council on 07 4945 0200.

If you are unsure whether it is safe to travel during a flood, please listen to your local radio station for road closures and safety warnings. If in doubt, stay at home.

If you are due to fly out of the Whitsunday Coast Airport, or collect arriving passengers, and you are unsure if the airport is open, please contact the relevant airline.

Proserpine Flood Maps

Flood maps showing existing depths of inundation, water surface levels and current speeds for Proserpine are available for download below.

**Note: The inundation represented away from the township may not be representative of the worst case inundation for the given ARI. Flooding in these areas are controlled by the major creeks (eg. Lagoon Creek) and long duration storms, rather than short high intensity storms modelled for the town.
