Events include the 11th annual Airlie Beach Triathlon (750m swim/20km cycle/5km run), Kidzpower Junior Triathlon, Open Water Swim (750/1500m) and Team Sprint (600m), Beach Volleyball and Sport Expo. The Airlie Beach Triathlon includes a Business Teams Challenge and High School Team Challenge. Cash and random draw prizes total close to $20,000 which makes the race the best value sprint distance race on the coast, also voted the best race for its scenic course, professionalism, hospitable and welcoming locals, involving many community groups. 19/09/2009 3:00 PM	19/09/2009 11:30 PM	PBR Challenger Series	In 2008, Proserpine became one of the select locations around Australia to stage a round of the challenger Professional Bull Riders Series events. Organised by the Rotary Club of Proserpine, this event is one of the more unique events on the PBR Tour. It's a family event with a range of entertainment designed to appeal to all ages from the littlies to teens and beyond. Showground gates open at 3pm and the bull riding runs between 6.00 and 9.00 pm. However, the entertainment - that includes a live band - continues through until midnight. There'll be free parking space available in the showgrounds and food and drink stalls as well as a licensed bar will be operating during the event.
