Whitsunday Catchment Landcare (WCL) is a community based group with a majority community and landholder membership. WCL encompassess a region from Eden Lassie Creek in the north (Bowen Shire) to Alligator Creek in the south (Mackay Shire) and much of its area found in the Whitsunday Shire.

The purpose of Whitsunday Catchment Landcare is to help ensure sustainable land management in the Whitsunday Rivers catchment areas: O’Connell, Andromache, Proserpine and Gregory River catchments.

Our major goal of sustainable land management is being acheived primarily through the Sustainable Landscape Program in conjunction with other programs like the Healthy Waterways Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring Program, Neighbourhood Revegetation Scheme and by provision of information to the general community and stakeholder groups.

You can find a digital copy of our Catchment Management Strategy Summary in the downloads section of this website.
