Major airlines Virgin Blue and Jetstar fly into Whitsunday Coast airport daily, which is situated about 10mins by road south of Proserpine or 30 mins to Airlie Beach. There are also direct flights from major centres to Hamilton Island, the largest of the resort islands. There are also two smaller airports for light aircraft, one at Shute Harbour, the other on Lindeman Island.

Statewide and interstate rail connections call into Proserpine on their coastal journey. The Tilt Train and the Sunlander service the Whitsundays through Proserpine.
