Enterprise Whitsundays
Enterprise Whitsundays (EW) is the lead economic development agency for the Whitsunday region, which includes Proserpine, Bowen, Cannonvale, Collinsville, Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands.
Enterprise Whitsundays’ role is to play a leadership and facilitation role in supporting our community to improve their economic, social and environmental wellbeing by developing the potential of our region, its assets and our people.

What does this mean?
We aim to foster economic prosperity through leadership, planning, promotion, project management, representation and communication.
We create the environment in which our businesses and industry can succeed. A number of key major projects are either under investigation or being constructed in the region. There are diverse infrastructure, industry, commercial, community and residential projects that have been initiated by both the private and public sector. The region has a strong economic base in tourism, mining, transportation, horticulture, agriculture, aquaculture and aged services.
Enterprise Whitsundays can provide information on our region's economy, which includes information on the labour force, housing and building statistics and major industry. Other regional profiles available include the Demographic Profile, Education and Training Profile and Community Services Profile.
Enterprise Whitsundays has received funding from the Federal Government to help provide a free Small Business Advisory Service for businesses in the Whitsunday Region.

Bowen Collinsville Enterprise
Bowen Collinsville Enterprise Inc. is focused on delivering long term economic benefits to the residents of the Bowen and Collinsville communities.
The Bowen and Collinsville communities are well positioned to become an economic powerhouse of the North Queensland region. Driven by ongoing investment in mining, agriculture, aquaculture, fishing and tourism, plus the ongoing development of the Abbot Point Industrial Precinct approximately 20km to the north of Bowen, we look forward with anticipation as years of hard work and planning bring a number of significant projects to fruition.
Hundreds of millions of dollars of investment will be poured into developments in the region in the short and medium term future. The Bowen and Collinsville area is proving an exciting and rewarding region to invest in. With extensive natural resources, available industrial land, plus the upgrading of electrical, rail, road and water infrastructure to our region, numerous ongoing opportunities for investment are available.
Bowen Collinsville Enterprise Inc. is an economic development agency in the Bowen region, facilitating:
- Economic prosperity as result of the private sector investment, crucial to bring large industrial projects and new business and investment opportunities to the Bowen Shire
- Provision of the higher order social infrastructure, which encompasses a wide range of community facilities and services critical to wellbeing of the Bowen communities, such as health, education and public safety
- Strategic planning for the Bowen's future briefing will provide opportunity to update social sector stakeholders about current economic development activities, provide current statistical information at local and regional level
- Provision of a high level of lobbying for new industries and business while ensuring a balanced, environmentally sustainable development of residential areas

Regional Economic Development Corporation
REDC is the peak economic development organisation for the Mackay-Whitsunday-Isaac Region (Mackay Statistical Division) which encompasses the three local government areas of Mackay, Whitsunday, and Isaac.
REDC is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating economic growth and improved quality of life for the benefit of all members, investors, visitors and residents.
The Queensland State Government, through the Department of Employment, Economic Development, & Innovation (DEEDI), sponsors REDC to co-ordinate regional economic development activity, act as a conduit for the region into the Queensland State Government and undertake projects of significant regional and economic impact. REDC is further funded by the Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac Regional Councils, as well as industry partners.
REDC is an apolitical organisation, advised and influenced by a Board of Directors and Advisory Committees. Activities undertaken by REDC cover not only economic initiatives, but also social and environmental challenges.
