Asset Management plans

Asset Management Plans (AMP) are a core component of Whitsunday Regional Council's asset management framework. Council's infrastructure assets deliver essential services to the community. The effective planning and management of infrastructure assets is crucial to sustainable delivery of community services to meet community needs and aspirations, for both current and future generations.
Council is currently developing Asset Management Plans for the following asset classes:
  • Transport Infrastructure
  • Buildings and Land
  • Open Space
  • Stormwater
  • Water and Sewer
Each Asset Management Plan will include the following information:
  • Introduction to outline the assets considered within the Plan
  • Levels of Service
  • Future Demand
  • Life Cycle Management Plan
  • Financial Summary
  • Asset Management Practices
  • Planned Improvement and Monitoring

The financial summary includes a 10 year forecast for planned capital renewal and future assets which is used to inform Council’s 10 Year Financial Forecast.
