Whitsunday Development Manual Standard Drawings

The Whitsunday Development Manual V3.6 commenced on 21 December 2018, the Development Manual identifies industry standards, design guides and specifications to guide construction throughout the Region.

Standard drawings to support the Development Manual also commenced on 21 December 2018. Council utilised standards, design guides and specifications from the Development Manual to draft the standard drawings.

The standard drawings are provided for guidance when designing and preparing to undertake works in the Whitsunday Region. The standard drawing amendments are intended to allow broader utilisation of industry standard drawings issued by the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA) and the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR).

Council may condition development applications based on Council’s standard drawings.

The standard drawings current at the time of construction are to be utilised by the person intending to undertake works.

Applicants may wish to consider alternative design outcomes from the standard drawings, however Council will only consider these with RPEQ certification.

Council has not considered site specific requirements when producing these drawings.

Prior to the implementation of any drawings, a site-specific investigation is required by the person intending to undertake works.
