Commencing November 2016, Whitsunday Regional Council will be installing a 380m effluent main along the North-Western side of Peter Wyche Drive and a 65m effluent main along the North-Eastern side of Hay St, Bowen.
Please be advised that these works will affect lane status and speed restrictions between 7amand 4pm Monday – Friday. Overnight traffic signage will also be in place at selected locations. Access to properties will not be affected.

As part of Council’s Capital Works Program for 2016/17, Council’s Works Department will be upgrading the stormwater drainage system (situated within the parking areas) along the Main Street of Proserpine between the intersections of Hinschen Street & Chapman Street.
Works will commence on Monday, 22 August 2016 and it is anticipated that this work will extend up to November 2016. The project crew will work five days a week from Monday to Friday between the hours of 6:30am to 5:00pm as required.
The works will include installation of reinforced concrete pipes, box culverts, kerb & channel and associated pavement reconstruction.
Whilst Council will endeavor to keep disruptions to a minimum, we regret that traffic delays will occur due to partial and full road closures along this section of the street at times in order to undertake the works. However, accesses to the properties and business premises will be maintained at all times during this work.
Council apologies for any inconvenience and seek your co-operation during this important upgrade.

As part of Council’s commitment to upgrade our region, Council has engaged a contractor to replace the water main in Golden Orchid Drive, Airlie Beach commencing on Tuesday 27 October until 6 November 2015.
The works will include the replacement of the old AC water main with a new DICL water main to be placed under the road. Due to the nature of these works, temporary road closures will be required with traffic management to be put in place.

Council's Works Department will be installing a 375mm diameter sewer rising main from the Beach Road and Shute Harbour Road intersection to the pump station at Pandanus Drive, Cannonvale commencing 26th October 2015.

Pool safety laws are necessary to keep young children safe and save lives. There is one pool safety standard in Queensland, designed to increase pool safety and simplify pool safety laws, which previously included 11 different safety standards.
